For a while at work now we've had some fun with really tenuous links we have to famous people e.g Sid Vicious Spat on me, or Pete Beale from Eastenders asked me for directions, Frankie Vali stood behind my sister in the chip shop queue, during which some people come up with some great & real Claims to fame (someone had dinner with Churchill and famous generals as a boy) We do laugh more at the tenuous though. Does anyone have any?

Walking down the path to High Force on Tuesday, Bobby Robson passed on his way back up, I asked the people with me (totally oblivious) wasn't that the ex Newcastle manager bloke? the one with the irritating voice ? still totally oblivious. When I went for an icecream the lad selling them was over the moon, "Been waiting for Bobby Robsons autograph for years" he says "then he turns up asking for a 99" I knew I wasn't wrong!
Denholm Elliott ate Apple pie in my house when he came to collect his 2 children (we had been looking after them).  Chatted in a local bar to Terry-Thomas about feuding with siblings (apparently he didn't get on with his big bro).  Was asked to be a nanny to Roger Taylor's (Queen) kids - said no.
Saw David Baddiel (scruffy ******) in my local Sainsburys on Saturday.
I had to explain to Michael Palin that the door he was trying to use to get into W.H.Smith in Paddington station was locked and he should use the one around the corner. He replied 'Oh stupid me',and said thank you. He seemed a very nice man.
