What is the attraction when he all head for the coast or lakes so we can look across the water and satisfy some craving. Is it biological and a wish to return to the water we escaped from all those years ago.

water is a relaxing and on the whole calming environment and essential for life and it will become ever more precious, guard it and enjoy it, whatever your views on man water was in the creation story before man
Before United Utilities and Tesco we relied on water for drinking water and as a food source. For millions of years humans have had to live near water and i suppose this is coded into our psyche.
Also the more hippyish type would argue that because the human body is mostly made up of water we are 'as one' with large bodies of water and feel drawn to them.
Personally i really aint that bothered about being near the sea or a lake. Seen one big bit of water, seen em all IMO!
I would call it a sense of adventure.
a subtle and latent biological urge to return to the security of the amniotic sack, i.e., our origins.
