What was the name of Hitler's unsuccessful plan to drop hundreds of fake pound notes (i'm not sure what value) over Britain to cause mass inflation? Is there any where i can find out more about this plan?
Thanks in advance.

Operation Bernhard; this was a continuation of Operation Andreas.
the history channel has has a documentary on this last week
There is also an excellent comedy drama starring Michael Elphick and Ian Richardson, called "Private Schulze" about this, in the 80's I think.
Substantial numbers of counterfeit British banknotes were printed at the Nazi concentration camp Sachsenhausen,
near Oranienburg, about 10 miles north of Berlin.
A small museum exists on site where examples of these notes may still be seen, together with one or two of the printing presses.
Well worth a visit if you can stomach the associated atrocities.
I believe there were large quantities dropped....which, in some cases several trunks of notes were handed over to the constabulary.
It seems the plan in its entiriety may have been canceled due to renowned British honesty. Try that now. [smile]
