Can anyone recommend a speaking clock app, using 12 hour format.
I want one that will say for example:
It's a quarter past ten instead of 10:15
It's twenty to eight instead of 20:40

How about a clock designed for the visually impaired such as this https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8287636

Well, 20:40 is twenty to nine for a start!
I think that the way you want the time stated is peculiarly British...so may not be easy to find.
Am I the last person that still says the time is five and twenty to/past?
I use this, what's the problem?

Hopkirk those are brilliant, thank you. I rather like the button one!
I can't tell if the second one announces in 12 hour clock format. I expect it does, but the information given doesn't specify.

Great!!
Barry at 13.53 My mother used to say 5 and 20 up if it was 25 to the hour, never heard that from anyone else. I am Lancastrian she was from Penge, often wondered if it was peculiar to the area she was brought up
It used to be very common here in the wider Birmingham area, fourteen. Apparently it is 'olde English' from the German who still, I believe, count in that way.
