Youtube Content Creators

Do any of you have a YouTube channel? I am trying to find out if the creator has any say in the number of ads shown during each 'reel?', 'episode?'
Some channels seem to show ads every two or three minutes whilst others have far fewer.

On my home laptop I see virtually no ads with the content I watch, unless it is part of the video itself (I’m not paying anything to avoid ads), but on my works laptop, watching the same videos usually results in some advert being shown before the video of interest.

My nephew and his family have their own channel to cover their year-long Airbnb travels around the world.
They have modest deals over train/flight travel occasionally, and obviously Airbnb.
But they have no control over ad content and frequency. In fact, if you and I watch the same youtube, we'll get different ads.
Google sorts the ads (and frequency) they think will relate to you personally, regardless of the channel content.
