OH is back home after his hip replacement in Belgium. Thank heavens he had insurance. They were marvellous to him in the hospital.
He was picked up from the hospital at 3.00 pm by someone from the insurance company and taken to Brussels where he caught a flight to Heathrow at 7.00.
They got a taxi to home where he arrived at 11.00 pm.
He was shattered and in so much pain.
My brother who died 2 weeks ago had all the equipment that would help OH.
He had a stair lift, we found someone who could remove it from late brothers house and bring it to our house and he fixed it yesterday afternoon.
Brother also had a zimmer frame and a thing to help round the loo.
They really were a godsend.
OH has found all the equipment so handy and uses them all the time.
It looks like a long job until he is back to normal.
Thank heavens he had insurance.
So pleased he's home, Caran, he'll feel a bit better for that alone, I'm sure. I wish him a speedy & comfortable as possible recovery & you both have my best wishes x
Hopefully your hubby will find that things get better for him far quicker than he might expect.
When my elderly friend had a hip replacement (after breaking her hip), she refused to let me do her shopping for her and (accompanied by me) she did a load of shopping around Tesco within a few hours of being released from hospital. The following day she took her two big, strong dogs for quite a long walk.
I hope that your husband's recovery is equally quick!
Hi Caran good that your husband is back home. As somebody who has had a hip replacement I would urge you to make sure he does the excercises that he has been given, I didn't do far enough and have paid for it since.
