free mapping websites with zoom facility

I usually guddle about with Microsoft Virtual Earth which is very good but sometimes I want to zoom in even closer to a particular area.
Does anyone know of a decent free download with better zoom features?

never used MS virtual earth, so not sure what it's like.
Have you tried Google Earth? I can see my car parked on my drive, and I live in the sticks.
