Planning A Kitchen Upgrade
13 Answers
I want to work out all my options for the layout of my new kitchen.
Is there a website that someone could recommend? Something that can indicate if spaces and white goods will fit into the existing space.
If I don't get this organised now I will never do it. Getting my new bathroom fitted was a traumatic experience.

You could just have small appliances and hide them.

You could have a removable cabinet built the same size as a cooker...roll it out and slot a cooker in its place sometime in the future.

Barry - it's electric.
Dougie - that is not good. You would think that making the design legal would be the first stage. I also need to cat-proof it in some way (just in case I decide to adopt) and this kitchen has gaps in between the units that are cat sized.
Choux - it is a badly run charity and seems to alienate people. I like doing my little area of work. I've got a slow cooker - somewhere!

So it's a freestanding electric cooker with oven and hob? Just put a cheap one in, you can buy a ceramic hob cooker for well under £300. Surprisingly this cheap one has a steam clean function https:/ /www.cu rrys.co .uk/pro ducts/i ndesit- is5v4kh w-50-cm -electr ic-cera mic-coo ker-whi te-1019 0749.ht ml

Just had our kitchen extended and completely furnished. A young lady from Howedens discussed our requirements and advised us of pitfalls and no nos. Eg cooker too close to window opening etc. Good comprehensive catalogue as well including fixtures and fittings. My wife wanted an unusual peninsular fitted and they obliged..All furniture comes ready assembled so no extra labour charges putting flat packs together. Not the cheapest but excellent quality. B&Q were useless. I enjoy cooking so got a large 6 burner 3 oven range. Essential for me. A very happy bunny once it was completed.
Retro, I think we could fit my kitchen onto your wife's island. I am not much of a cook.
Why shouldn't the cooker be near a window?
Barry, I have a white cooker that came with the flat. It has ceramic hobs. I have an Air Fryer, Toaster and a Microwave so the cooker s unlikely to be used. I'll just leave it.
The kitchen sink and the draining are huge and badly located.
I hope that I can find someone to fit it for me!
Paying for it will hurt, the bathroom cost thousands to do. I might have to consider getting a job. :-)
