Predictably, this is about a cat. :-)

His name is Ringo and he was a clever little kitty.

I had a ginger tom called Ringo (because of the rings on his tails and our love of The Beetles).
He loved playing fetch with a small ball, he was a very loving cat. We still miss him.

When my brother left home my dad was left on his own in the house. Each time I visited I smelled gas. My dad said I was imagining it and he did nothing. I

My brother went home for a visit, smelled the gas and phoned the gas board who found and fixed the leak. Dad was chuffed that his son had saved him.

I nearly strangled the old git.

I don't think we'll ever fully understand the powers that animals have. I'm often reading stories about them 'telling' their owner they have cancer or saving lives in another way.
