Hotmail - aarrgghh!!!!

Help!
I've been having problems signing in to hotmail since Sunday morning. Every time I try to get past the sign in page it comes up as 'cannot find server' or 'this page cannot be displayed'. I know that the problem is with my pc as I can sign in fine on the other networked pc. I've tried using IE, firefox and opera, and have the same problem in each, so I don't think it's the browser. I haven't downloaded anything or changed any settings, simply switched off the pc overnight! I've checked my router, but as the other pc is still fine, I don't think it's that - and only hotmail (and I've just discovered ebay) has this problem (all the other websites that I've tried seem fine).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong, before I throw my laptop out of the nearest available window?!

Obviously it's a s/w problem, i re-installed everything, that didn't work btw. Try restoring it if you have any recent restore points. Fortunatelly i have a desktop and my rents internet connection :)

Thanks for your suggestions guys - have tried both and am still having no luck. Thought I'd found a way round it when I managed to sign in at passport.net, but as soon as I clicked on any of the hotmail links I was back to square one! I even tried to open a new hotmail account on my laptop, but can't get past the first page! So it looks like, for the moment, I'll have to use my flatmate's pc to check my email, until I figure out what's going on with mine!
