There is a fault I've found after 3 months on the inside casing. I don't have the box it came in anymore. Can they refuse to exchange or refund ?

After 3 months you don't have any right to a refund (although, of course, you could still be offered one). However you do have the right to a repair or replacement and the absence of the packaging doesn't negate that right.

Oh bless you Chris x
if the product is under warranty (check the suppliers but mostly 3 months), and/or you have proof of purchase, then yes take it back. Loads of companies accept without original packaging, plus if its faulty they shouldn't be selling it on anyway unless they recondition it.
Doesn't matter if it's under warranty or not - statutory rights trumps any warranty. You don't need a receipt either, just proof of purchase.
