How can I delete permanently the annoying ads that keep popping up please? Especially when I try to go into someone’s question.. getting sick and tired of pressing the X button.

The removed answer may have had the, errr, answer.

More moderation muscle flexing.
douglas, I didn't remove it, I didn't see the post but I remind you of Rule 17 of the Site Rules.
Barry, it's not all about you. Where has your name come up on this post?
Well done though, now you have to remove your own post. X
I haven't said it is all about me but you accused mods of muscle flexing when whoever removed it was applying the Site Rules.

How very odd, I thought ads had been removed?
I thought the same bednobs.
Are you sure malware hasn't infected your device ?
I never get ads on AB. I have Adblock Plus as an extension on my Firefox browser.
Ouch, that's a brave admission, atheist.
I don't see any ads at all on AB, except for the overlay one which appears every 50(?) click-throughs. Although my browser (Slimjet) comes with a built-in ad blocker, it's disabled on this site anyway.

I thought that the current policy at AB Towers was to only show ads to people who aren't logged in here (in the hope that the loss of advertising revenue will be compensated for by donations). So, if you're seeing ads while logged in, something very odd seems to be happening.

It might help the AB techies to know about the device and browser that you're using, Smurfchops. (AB never seems to function entirely as it's meant to when using Safari on an iPad, for example).
I use Brave browser and do not get any ads.
There are other browsers, too, that don't show odds.
^^
"Odds" should be "ads"!
I don't see ads at all on PC, I have Ad blocker+ but is disabled for on here. Win10. although my phone is my WiFi that might have something to do with it.

I am using Safari on my iPad mini.
Thanks for confirming my suspicion, Smurfchops. (iPad users often seem to have problems with AB).

I've emailed the Ed to draw the matter to the attention of AB's techies. (Whether that will actually make any difference though is anyone's guess, I reckon!)
"AB's techies"

LOL! Couldn't program their way out of a paper bag!

The sad thing, Chris, is that you know I'm right but daren't say it for fear of losing your mod status...
