tap into your keyboard should get info you require. heat may help eg a hot water bottle. but be careful. not to burn your skin
Can't think what they're called by had some fantastic tablets from my GP which used to sort my fibrositis/fibromyalgia out within days of it flaring up.

Have you seen your GP?

Its my mum who is suffering, she has seen her GP and got some pain killers but they are not working too good... How long on average would you say this condition flares up for? I take it, it is a re-occuring condition? Thanks for all advice given.
It can keep flaring up, I found it much much worse when i was at uni with all the bending over for lectures and studying and such and working on the deli counter at a supermarket (lots of leaning over to put things in and out, cleaning and tidying etc...).

Used to be in agony with it but whatever it was the doctor gave me, don't think they were painkillers, some kind of anti inflammatory if I remember right to treat it rather than mask it and they were fantastic.

If there are any triggers she can eliminate that may help eg special seat support cushions and work or a more supportive chair and adopting a better posting and avoiding lots of bending of the neck and such.

Considering her posture and support while sleeping could make a difference too.

Stress can make it worse so that's something to deal with if applicable.

I tried better posture and exercise like yoga, pilates and swimming helped...oh and sitting in the jacuzzi :) Tend to go for massages quite often too.

Most help seems to be linked to Arthritis and other rhumatology related conditions.

Hope she feels better soon xxx

See a chiropractor - you'll be surprised what a few manipulations of the neck can do to ease aches and pains.
