I'm tearing my hair out here, wanting to download my travel insurance documents (in PDF files) but it says these files are password protected. how can I freely convert them to print-off?

Do you not have the password in an email?

No Rocky, I have tried converting it in Word which I have (Office 365) but it's asking me for card details!
Bit confused, can you open them and if so how are they being opened (into another browser window?)?

Usually when Insurance companies lock files they send you a password - as rocky says. Check your spam if you dont think you have received one.

I will look again for any P/W
Even more confused now. Have you downloaded the (PDF) document?
To convert using word you save the PDF then open it with word (right click and select 'open with'. If you try to do it with Adobe they will want some cash.

BTW its M365 now ;-)
Question Author
found a series of numbers in the email, I will try that now, thanks both of you
sorry can you clarify, can you actually open it? Does it actually ask for a PW?
Question Author
yes Tora, I have cracked it now hopefully
thanks all
Bobbi, for future reference, you could try to right click on the document and then print it to PDF, when prompted save it as a Word document. This should do away with the need for a password.
