...says Gordon Brown. //The former prime minister is calling on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prosecute those responsible for the "vicious" abuse of human rights. //

//Speaking to BBC Radio 4 Today's Nick Robinson, Mr Brown, now the UN's special envoy for global education, said: "They've [women] been excluded from education, excluded from employment, excluded from visiting public places.

"All these bans are a form of discrimination. It's probably the most heinous, most vicious, most comprehensive abuse of human rights in place around the world today.//

Have the Taliban signed up to human rights legislation ? Maybe they don't consider such a thing exists. Certainly seems like it.
He's 100% right. No one's going to do anything about it though. The abuse will carry on for years, with the west looking on, saying how awful it is.

I feel such pity for the women and girls who live in that God forsaken crap hole.
unusually for a Labour man he's bang on. Probably get a rollicking from the terrorist liason dept.

Well no S*** Grondo.

Of course he right, but it is their country so how can anyone do anything about it? Lest face it they are not the only ones in the World are they?

Third world problems. Coming to a street near you.
Already here Douglas in certain northern towns and cities.
nothing we can do about it, we tried as did others at great expense ie blood and treasure, ugly face of militant islam is alive and well.
i recon the taliban are scared shitless, scared of women, get an education go to college ,take over.they should aspire to become imam's that's how they control the masses
the taliban are like religious monks harkening back to the the day of there idol, ie the old way was the best way, but what ib read women then had more autonomy, so what's there game then..
Human nature tends to encourage twisting things to support one's own views and desires. We are an egocentric species and only gradually improving over the centuries.
Old_Geezer
