Update Eye Shingles Home Now With Cream

Hi there just an update to say I am home now I saw a lovely doctor who confirmed diagnosis that there was definitely shingles in my right eye, none in my left. My vision is considerably different in my right eye but not sure if its the shingles or a prescription change. I've to wait a while before going back to opticians. I was really scared I was going to be kept in but she said they very rarely keep people in hospital nowadays. Thank goodness for our wonderful NHS. The cream I am on is ganciciclovir 5 times a day. Similar name to the antiviral pills

when I had shingles in one eye my GP told me there was an invisible line down the middle of the face and shingles won't cross it.

gordie, it was just a very faint itch. I was astonished when my GP told me what it was, because I know many people with shingles are driven mad with pain, so I was dead lucky. I've now had a jab which will hopefully outlast me.

sister's neighbour swelled very badly in his eye and down his cheek - he was in a lot of pain - fortunately he got to see a doctor - guess what - a wasp sting.
