I have a new small fridge - been in a week or so now but it’s wet inside. It’s cooling fine but items with cardboard wrappers are all a bit soggy.
Was I supposed to do something relating to the frost free drainage on install?
It feels like it’s permanently defrosting although perfectly cold.
There could be a row of little holes at the back of the fridge, have a look at your manual or empty your fridge and have a look.
If the water can't drain through these holes your fridge will be wet. I unblock mine with a plastic cable tie, although it has happened in the past when a stray few lettuce leaves were clinging over the top of the holes.
Did it have a manual with it giving do's and don'ts? Is there a drain hole at the bottom of the machine that may be blocked (the one on mine is just above the salad drawer)
I will double check the drainage hole, but it’s so new I can’t imagine it’s blocked yet. I couldn’t think what to use but a cable tie is a good suggestion.
Otherwise it’s definitely level, not too hot or cold etc.
Thanks Barry. I’ll check it out although it’s new so wouldn’t expect it to be blocked on delivery. Maybe there’s a piece of packaging at the back that I’ve missed.
mine has been wet from the day I bought it some years ago. I have cleaned everything in it so now I just put a dry teatowel over that hole and after a while teatowel is soaking wet.
