What is an average time for someone to swim 50metres in and what is an average time for someone to swim 400metres in?

Depends on what you mean by 'average.' An average Olypmpic swimmer ? An average club swimmer ? etc etc.Also, you don't specify what stroke. I would say that an average leisure swimmer who swims three times a week to keep fit should do 50m Front Crawl in about 35-40 seconds and 400 metres in about 7 minutes. This is only a rough generalisation. Thanks for your thanks, amazing.

i am a club swimmer who trains 4 times a week my 50 fc time is 29 and my 400 fc time is 5.04

I agree with derek it depends on the type of average you mean. Also age and sex can alter the average
