I suggest that anyone wishing to respond should do so on this thread, rather than on the original one, so that their posts don't also get missed out from the 'Latest Posts' section.

I'm sorry to read of your brother-in-law's very rapid decline. Sadly, as the passing of some much-loved AB members (such as Mamyalynne and Woodelf) has shown, it can happen all too frequently in the latter stages of cancer.

There's nothing you can do to get old threads to show up in 'Latest Posts'. However your post here, together with my link above, should achieve your aim anyway. (i.e. people will see this thread and then, hopefully, will follow my link to your 'update' post on the earlier thread).

It would appear that we are now in the realms of terminal and nursing care.

Yes, we are Sqad. Thank you for your concern. We always knew that this would come - but it's the 'brush-off' from the NHS up to now which is so horrible to cope with. Until now no-one has managed to tackle his pain successfully, or even seemed that bothered for a lot of the time, t.b.h...
At the moment we have (to quote my sister) '2 wonderful McMillan nurses' and he is comfortable at home in a hospital bed, drifting along with a TV when he wakes and with my sister and his kids around.
I'm staying away for now (it's a 60 miles journey) as I'll be a lot more use to move in and help to pick up the pieces and organise when needed; so I've cleared my timetables.
Thanks again for being there. :)
