Is it cheating
10 Answers
There has been a few ideas of helpful sites to help solve crosswords. Very interesting but I use a very useful CD Rom I have of the Collins English Dictionary which has a wordsearch facility which I use as a last resort. I have tried to get an updated version but I do not get a response from Collins!

If you look further down this page it has been seen that one answer on a site is diferent to the one that most people have so has shown that the answer sites should only be used for checking. I have a friend who thinks that I cheat by using the internet to find answers as she uses books. I still look up answers so do not consider myself a cheat. Anyway you still have to be picked out of the mail bag to win so what are the odds? I for one will not say no don't send me a cheque as i checked the answers on an internet site.

i was always told that there's no such thing as cheating, it's called learning! if you've tried your best to find the answer & still none the wiser how are you going to find the answer if you don't ask or keep looking it up ! how can that be cheating ? and when you do find the answer (on google, AB, donslots site, marinacs site, dictionary, or whatever) you've learnt something new, so there you go - no such thing as cheating - it's called learning :-)
I have looked at donslot and thought how easy it would be to just copy down the answers - but the only person I would be cheating is myself.
I agree that looking up answers for yourself, whether through books or the internet is a method of learning, not cheating.
However, I often kick myself when I know that I should remember something previously looked up and I have forgotten it (yet again) - so I think I don't learn it well enough!
Thank you to donslot - you have helped on occassions and are a very altruistic chap.

The important thing to remember is, you are keeping your brain busy whatever way you find your answers and it is surprising how many friends I have impressed when I know the answer to a question that I have learned through looking up on whether it be on the internet, google or answerbank - Thank you everybody that has helped me be a more learned person.
