He promised lots of things (walls to keep Mexicans out, repeal Obamacare, ) but I'm not sure he delivered on many.

he did  - - - he was popular, he  was president, he did  great things, he  made america great again - that is four all ready

he gave the Brazilian rain forest to  capital who chopped  it down. He corrected climate change by saying it didnt exist, he rolled back socialised medicine which no onoe wish to pay for. He became the richest man in the world ( thx  to Putin). He threatened to give Ukraine to Russia ("they speak russian right so they are russian")

he killed a few ( hundred) mehican children in detention and said he er had done something else .

he built a great big wall ( er 'warl') with money taxed for something else

He changed the supreme court into a far more leftie and liberal organisation. He has rolled back ( resiled) from their judgement on abortion.

He blackmailed Zelenskyy into investigation Hunna Biden who everyone knows is a crook

and that was only on the first day in the morning

He apptd four supreme court justices having held up  obama's choices on the grounds that obama was on his way out.

oh, he found the presidential paper library too full

and graciously sheltered some of the important one under armed guard at his home

The walk goes on at a stately pace.  Younger, fitter, walkers look for a 20km day, we are happy with 7km.

But it's all good.  We should be in Santiago in early October, spend a day or two there, and then return home.

Sandy, I know nothing of US politics but looking at this thread i see you're doing the Camino de Santiago, did you meet many Irish? my friends are doing it and are hoping to be home start of October. recently retired teaching couple

There was a group of seven or eight young Irish women in a restaurant in Arzúa last night.  Sometimes you see people with a small tricolour sewn on their backpacks.  But there's a lot of people walking this year, so many that it sometimes feels as though you're walking down a busy High Street rather than on a pilgrimage trail.

I'm sure your friends are enjoying a memorable experience.

Thanks Sandy, they've been planning on going pre pandemic, so I guess they are having a great time. Until they come back with pictures or something, I cannot imagine what it is like for them
