I took this question from another thread. Having received the order of the boot from Labour, he sits as an Independent now but he's held Islington North for thirty years. I wonder how he'll fare in the next General Election? Will they go for him - or for the Labour candidate? Or even ..... dare I say it? ... the Conservative.

They've had a Labour MP since 1937. The last Con MP was Albert Goodman in 1931.
I don't think, even in our strange political times, there's much chance of a Conservative MP being elected, or whether they'll even bother to field a candidate.
