Good evening, all!
Week 39? That means that we're three-quarters of the way through the year! How did that happen then? I'm still trying to clear the smell of last Christmas's sprouts out of my house!
I achieved a ‘bare pass mark’ (in my opinion) on the main quiz this week, with THREE out of seven:
https:/
I followed that with a ‘middling’ THREE out of five in the junior quiz:

Your turn!
No best answer has yet been selected by Buenchico. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I've just read through the questions and there's only one I know, the rest I've no idea what they're talking about. So sorry, I'm not playing Chris.
All week I have been glued to 6.5 box sets of The Sopranos someone has lent me so watching or listening to the News has been out of the question. But The Sopranos has been brilliant.
2/7,3/5. No lucky guesses this week. Have just received a corporate gift to 'make me feel valued'. One teabag, one very miniature chocolate and a very miniature soap. Suspect it cost more to send it in postage than anything else. Of far more value to myself was spending a lovely sunny day in Highgate Cemetery on Monday, and having Puss Puss purring next to me at the moment. Hope the sun is shining on you and yours.
Excuses, excuses, LB!
(I hope that you'll join in next week though!
Top of the tree, Twix (alongside the mighty Lie-in King). Well done!
All the very best people scored an aggregate of 6 this week, I reckon, JJ109 ;-)
Hi, Campbellking!
Only just below me with your scores this week, I see.
'Corporate gifts' are often a bit of a joke, I feel. (I think I've still got a tacky sales award somewhere from a company that I worked for ages ago, where they insisted that I had to drive from Suffolk to the Midlands for the presentation. I'd rather have had the money to pay for my fuel!).
I didn't mind the bottle of Lanson Black Label Champagne I was given at Christmas by a car dealership where I worked as casual van driver though. (All the staff got the same level of presents that the directors did).
I've also got a nice Parker pen and pencil set from my railway days, together with various mugs, etc.
I'm sure that a day at Highgate Cemetery is much better than spending eternity there!
;-)
