Are any cars manufactured in the UK - all the components from the bodywork to the lamps, engine, seats, upholstery, suspension, exhaust, windows, trim, wheels, tyres, batteries - or are they just assembled from imported bits?

I think you will find that parts are sourced worldwide whatever country they are bukt in but we have a thriving industry.

Rolls Royce (BMW owned so parts from Germany) Bentley( VW owned so expect some parts from them).

But we must also remember the Nissan Leaf is UK built but batteries? 

Toyota, Lotus, Morgan all UK but engines and bits from all over of course.

My Skoda Superb is Czech built but VW parts from all over the world are used as well as local.

According to this report, typically between 20 -25% (in terms of value) of car parts are sourced from within the UK; and around 75% of the imported parts are from the EU and Turkey.

I recall the Bristol showroom at the end of Kensington High Street near Olympia. Beautiful cars that were hand made in Great Britain.All the models were named after Bristol light bombers as in Blenheim or Beaufort.
