it means you have to turn the packet over to read it. OK for fish fingers, but not for potato dauphinoise you are trying to work out if you have time to cook
I'm confused!
I can't recall ever having bought potato dauphinoise in my life but a quick look at what's available from supermarkets suggests that most comes in packaging with an outer cardboard sleeve:

Surely you can simply remove the sleeve and then turn it over to read the instructions, can't you?
With all the nutritional information that must go on the front of the packaging, the best before and use by dates, there is not much room left for cooking instructions.
If you prefer you can usually find them online. I have had to resort to that when the instructions were on the sticky side of the label.
