In 'My real name is actually ...' you say: "Marillion's ex-lead singer Fish (a smart move when you are Mr and Mrs Dick's little lad Derek on your birth certificate) reckons his drinking habits gave him the name that sticks to this day." But it was because Mr Dick's landlady would only allow him one bath a week and so he'd eek it out as long as possible, taking in beers and books with him! Cheers!

I would never wish to name-drop Waldo, but i was advised of the origin of Mr Dick's nickname by the man himself - although maybe he varies his answer depending how bored he is with question!
I think 'Derek Dick' sounds a little more savoury than 'Fish Dick' though...

He must change his answers then, Andy, because what I wrote is a para-quote from Fish in Mick Wall's biography 'Market Square Heroes'!
Fair enough Waldo - I'm in touch with Mick Wall - we are in the same line of business, so I'll ask him about it, and get back to you.
