Okay, well to start off I am an Irish Dancer in the Novice level (i'm in the U.S. I just started Irish dance last year around October) and am thinking of colors for a future solo dress. I already know the style I want ( velvet bodice that looks like a vest, the skirt has four hard pannels with a tutued soft skirt underneath, and the sleves a lace overlay effect), but I cannot think of colors! I want the colors to be ones I like, but that look good on me and are different from the several neon blue, red, black and highlighter coloered dresses that are everywhere now a days! I have medium brown hair with blonde and red highlights (natural highlights), hazel/bronze eyes that change color from greenish to brownish, and very pale skin with warm yellow undertones. Can you please help me with color suggestions? Thank you!

Surely the obvious choice is green? Seeing as it's an Irish dance you're doing? Green velvet perhaps?
flag colors.....green & orange panels, green bodice & white tutu, green shoes (white shoes make feet look big).

I don't think you get what irish dance is. It's not just a trick you can do, it's a sport. THey don't make green shoes. The flag colors on the dress is a good idea though.
Believe you me we know what Irish dance is over on this side of the pond! lol Anyway, most Irish dancers I have seen have a mainly green costume. After all, Ireland is the Emerald Isle!

hahaha! Oh I know you ALL know what it is........ it just thst answer didn't really make sense. :) and I would do green but everyone in America does. I was thinking more unique color combos that aren't so common.
Course you can get green shoes! At the very least you'll be able to get a pair dyed to matcfh the outfit.

I like the flag idea.
Sounds boring, but with the right decoration, tan or terracotta could be very effective and would suit your skin tones. Decorated with turquoise, blue or jade green, it can look stunning.

Or you what about navy, decorated with gold?
