pointless tournement now, the same sides win all the time. There have been 10 world cups, 9 have been won by the Southern Hemisphere. I'd Hoped this time would be different and should have been but for terrible refereeing.

It's not a world event though is it? People try to make it out that it has some great relevance in the sporting world but it doesn't as it's dominated by a handful of teams. 

In answer to the OP, did they deserve it? Probably not but then again did NZ deserve it? The scoreline shows how close of a bad game it was. Not all teams deserve the win they sometimes. That's the way it goes.

Both sides missed a penalty, but NZ missed a conversion and that was the difference.

It was a poor final, and rugby's loss for that. Something needs to change or I'll stop watching soon, except for local games.

Yes of course they deserved it.

Yes it's disappointing it wasn't Ireland v France or whatever. Desperately wanted Ireland to win but we weren't good enough on the night. Neither were France. To win we need to be better end of. No excuses no blaming refs or rules. 
It's the same for everyone. 
Hats off to England for the way they played in the semi. And to Portugal of course.

but I have to say our first class mods who have been ignoring world events ( deleting the ones they dont like) must be praised to the highest heaven. This is what AB is all about

this is the third RWC final the Boks have won without scoring a single try. (They scored two in their other one. NZ have scored seven tries in their three victories.) I find their brand of rugby deadly boring, though I know others think winning is all that counts and they certainly do that.

What is a 'world event.?  All sporting events have their small pool of winning countries, maybe different in different sports, but it's almost always to predict the few left in the semis.
