Cant get sound from my plasma tv to my home cinema speakers
13 Answers
Hi I know I sound like a novice with Home Cinema - I am - but I have just purchased a 50in plasma lg tv and panasonic home cinema system to complement it. I have connected my dvd / amp to the tv using hdmi cable and connected my sky box to the tv using scart. I have phonos going from my skybox to my dvd / amp. There is no problem listening to music or watching a DVD through the speakers but I cant get terrestial tv through the system. Wonder if I need more leads or phonos etc, or could it be a setting on one of either remote controls, any information welcome, many thanks Tom

You need the yellow/red phone outputs from your TV (Not Inputs) and run a phono lead to your amp and find a spare input (Usually TV/CD etc) Put your TV on and your amp on. Switch amp to whatever input you plugged the wires into and select a chanel. You will also be able to listen to your DVD this way - but the sound will be only stereo not 5.1 surround. Whatever you are watching on your TV you will be able to hear through your amp.
Good luck - let me know how you get on.

Also - some DVD's with built in AMPs have inputs for co-ax type aerials to process evrything - my mates had to do this with his Sky that goes to another room vua coax - but wanted to change it to yellow red/ white phonos for his projector system. This would be a better way as it would process the sound into formulated surround sound.
