Oh dear, hedonist nut jobs getting upset at genuine efforts to ensure our descendants have a future.

Bonfire night..."avenue of enjoyment". Really?

🙄 🙄🤦‍♀️

I agree!

A few fireworks is NOTHING compared to the amount of Kerasine dumped into the air by the rich and famouse who travel to places like Davos to lecture us on climate change while using private jets to travel there!

Nailedit; There are far more people flying off to distant places for hen nights and holidays than there are politicians seeking to address world problems.

One of those eco warriors up before the judge asked for her hearing to be delayed so she wouldn't miss her planned trip to India.  Do as I say not as I do.  Hypocrites.

Non now, she may be an expert on river pollution, drainage and sanitation, off to do good works.

The judge didn't sympathise.

Well he already has indoor plumbing.

They're already on it: https://bnn.network/world/uk/bonfire-night-sparks-debate-over-firework-ban-in-the-uk/

bonfires are mosly banned already. We used to hold our own. Now you can only attend the official ones. Lewes seems to be the only place still allowing private enterprse.

Don't know where you are jno but bonfires in back gardens are banned where I live

You don't need to ban bonfires, hardly anyone lights one now compared to my childhood. Most of us are onside with the idea of not burning things unnecessarily.

Bonfires are also dangerous to hedgehogs, who could have thought they found a good place to hide.

Not great for the plastic grass either.

i would have thought the millions of wood burners used was more of a risk to air quality than 1 night of bonfires

Totally agree Bednobs

Well what are they going to do when the Pagan community want to light them for the ceremonies and celebrations at Beltane and other fire festivals.  Banning them would be challenging
