Just wondering, does a priest/vicar get paid for conducting a funeral service, and if so, how much?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.my mum passed away last year and i was enquiring the same sort of question. the service and everything was really lovely and it didnt matter how much it cost really, just so we could have lay my mum to rest properly but we were surprised it didnt actually cost as much as we thought it would...... when i asked my dad he said such a percentage did go to the "church" and that the vicar was on about 40 - 50k a year. i was surprised but if u look at the car he has, the holidays he takes, the fact that he doesnt pay a full mortgage, then i realised this may in fact be realistic figures!
