Is the heating on a timer ?

My boiler clock is always playing up and turns itself on  whenever it feels like it until I reset the clock....Life is a trial here 😢

If the boiler is trying to work and locking out then its usually down to water/debris/air in the line or a carbonised jet and will need purging/cleaning.If its completely dead then its down to the control circuit..i.e. fused spur/timer/stat or wiring.

It does sound like the boiler has 'locked-out.'

You're not giving us enough information here Sandy. Is there a red light showing somewhere? Sometimes it just needs pressing to reset.

There may be a red button that just needs poking back in.

As Ryzen says, lock-out usually occurs when there's a fault, but often it's just for some spurious reason.

If unsure, give us the make and model.

hmmm - last time I bled the radiator I then had to get someone in to restart the whole system. The trouble is I can no longer remember what went wrong; it used to work okay.
