but there are outstanding jobs - its a window and door glazing company ! Left me with a black handle even though previous one was silver with mechanism for a back door opening (not front) said they would come back but clearly won't be ... what can be done?

That's capitalism for you - the greedy Directors (Limited Liability) take far too much money out of the business which then collapses leaving all the debtors way out of pocket and the Directors laughing all the way to the bank.

If you paid money up front by credit card, claim your money back from the credit card company.

If you paid money up front on a debit card, ask your bank if a 'chargeback' is possible.  If not, or if you paid money up front by cash, find the name of the administrator and lodge a claim:

(You're unlikely to get all of your money back but you might get a bit of it).

Ultimately though, you need to find another company to finish the work for you, even if it means paying twice.
