1d. A gesture or symbol conveying a meaning; a division of the zodiac; or, a board marking an inn, pub or shop (4)
22d. Inanimate object with a back, legs and often arms; or, a professorship (5)
24d. An air, hunt's-up, light-o'-love or melody, such as that figuratively changed when one rethinks (4)
