Bbc Quiz : Week 45
Good evening, all!
The C-word is almost upon us!
I've received my first C-word card. (OK, it's actually a multi-faith "Season's Greetings" card, from the Association of Women & Youth Against Fundamentalism, whose mailing list I seem to be on for some strange reason, but it still counts for me; I don't get many cards!)
I've also had my first C-word dinner (in Morrisons on Monday).
So it's definitely time for me to go and mash those sprouts into a totally soggy mess, in readiness for C-word day!
I managed my (fairly) regular score of FOUR out of seven in the main quiz this week:

. . . but I could only achieve TWO out of five in the junior quiz:

Your turn!

Well done on being a bigger kids than anyone else this week!
I take your point about mashing the sprouts too early but I feel that my use of a pressure cooker for the past few weeks has got them to just about the right point.
[I swear that this thread gets sillier every week!]
Hi, Roo! Well done on beating me!
I've just got an electric oil-filled radiator turned on low downstairs, which (together with having the gas oven on quite a lot) provides enough heat for my tiny house. Tablo likes to sleep on the stairs, in order to get the best of the heat. Meanwhile Chequers is right next to me as I'm typing, having filed himself in the uppermost of a stack of filing trays. (He's got a nice soft towel there for him because I know how much he likes that spot). Moonbeam is on the other side of me, on my bed. (He spent much of the afternoon hiding under a pillow but he's now showing himself to the world). He'll be happiest though when I go to bed, so that he can snuggle up alongside me (or on top of me).
I hope that you and your feline friends will have a lovely week!
Hi, Karamia!
Well done on beating me!
My lot weren't too bothered by the fireworks, as we no longer have a big public display in the town and most of those fireworks which were set off around here weren't very close to our house.
I'll let you know if I can think of any doggy gifts. (It's hard enough coming up with feline ones though!)
As I hardly watch any telly, I've not seen many of the Christmas ads yet (although one or two seem to pop up on YouTube from time to time). This is still my favourite fom recent years though:
All the best to you for the week from me and the Troublesome Trio!
Hi, again, Roo.
I suppose that there will be some people who couldn't have their family fireworks parties at the usual time either, say, because of the weather or perhaps because a child was unwell. So it's probably not surprising that there are still a few fireworks being let off. (I saw some fireworks going off as I drove into Ipswich last night for our radio society's autumn dinner).
It's good to know that Classic FM helps though. I've heard the promotions for their 'music for timid pets' on the radio and I've often wondered whether it makes any difference. I'm pleased to hear that it does.
Hi, Ken!
It's rarely too late to join in here. (The late Theland was sometimes a full week behind with his posts!).
Well done on beating me on the main quiz (and on keeping me company in the junior one which, despite being meant for kids, is never that easy, in my opinion!)
I hope that you'll have a good weekend at the bookies!
