I'm killing time before getting onto the off peak train at St Pancras. Have wandered into Fortnum and Mason and you can buy a jar of pickled Brussels Sprouts for £9.95. Anyone fancy some?

Very much, but not at that price I don't think.

I've never seen them before, are they often in the shops?

Is it a big jar or is this just another London loading?

Needs to be at least 15 fruits. 😅

Question Author

Looks like a reasonable size, 575g worth.

Oh go on then.

I guess I should have asked the size before my comment LOL

Yummy.Cheap at twice the price.

I'd rather have some their chocolates  😍

Brussels are somewhat cheaper than the own brand chocolates ....

Yuk!  They must taste something like sauerkraut.  I wouldn't want that on my Christmas dinner.

I loves

Whoops^

I love sauerkraut Naomi.  Haven't had it for years and years.  My mum in law used to make it together with lots of other pickles including pickled mushrooms - yuk  they were slimy!!

MrSmow would like those - am assuming you eat them cold!

I like sprouts but I hate pickles, so I think I'll pass on that one, thanks, Campbellking!

Ketchup, anyone?

It's pickled eggs that I really hate rhe thought of.  I'm not keen on eggs and pickling them seems worse.  But I love pickled raw herrings!! Especially the sweetcure ones.

I like pickled cauliflower but I don't like cooked cauliflower.

I'll go for all of the above, except the herring. Never, never eat fresh fish. It's one of the biggest causes of stomach upsets in this country, along with fresh chicken. Otherwise, everything's fine thanks! 😊

Pickled herring is very safe if properly done.  I've been eating it for years  and I'm 76.  Its never caused problems It's a mainstay in many countries. Ive always got a couple of tubs in the fridge bought from Morrisons. I wouldn't eat raw fish without it being pickled.

I didn't mention raw fish. I said fresh fish. Is that the same? Anyway, I avoid it like the plaque! 😊

Yes! Pickled Brussel Sprouts sound amazing, I love the next day Brussel-Farts!  And Sugar cookies, with butter cream frosting, and big sprinkles..and little glittery sprinkles...and more frosting...
