Just started watching (recorded) - they're all dressed in sparkly gold costumes - but what musical is that song from?  Help!  It's driving me nuts!

For come reason, I thought Cabaret? But I bet I'm wrong...I'm terrible remembering things like that.

No watching but what is the song

It says Layton and Nikita doing Moulin Rouge if that helps.

Didn't take much notice of costumes as they started.

Question Author

It was the second opening number.

Annabelle and Johannes did a  number from wicked

Karamia...Naomi is watching it recorded and is a bit behind. I think she is referring to the opening.

Annabel and Johannes: Foxtrot to For Good from Wicked –

Bobby and Dianne: Salsa to (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing –

Ellie and Vito: Quickstep to Belle from Beauty And The Beast –

Layton and Nikita: Paso Doble to Backstage Romance from Moulin Rouge! The Musical –

A Chorus Line

Oh ...you meant the judges doing their opening at beginning of show?

No idea?

Cabaret?

I don't know the music, but I do want to put cardigans on everyone. Brrr!

Ah...I bet ellipsis is right.

Question Author

Ellipsis. I'm thinking 'A Chorus Line' but I haven't seen that and have no idea what that song is called.  It's just sooo familiar!

Well, if we can’t have our ballroom pros dancing ballroom, at least they used their opening group number to celebrate a musical that is for, and about, dancers: A Chorus Line. Giovanni Pernice ran the tough, 80s-styled audition (hello, leg warmers), before Karen Hauer took on the Cassie solo – although technically this was the version from the movie, not the stage musical.

Of course we ended with One – the “singular sensation” climax with top hats and high kicks. The judges get in on the act too, and surely Craig Revel Horwood has never looked happier. Incidentally, this amazing musical is touring the UK next year and is well worth catching.

Fab-u-lous!  Thank you so much.  I shall certainly catch it on tour if I can.

Thanks all.

Maybe Chicago ?

Just love Chorus Line. I saw it I'm London years ago and still get goosebumps at that lineup.
