Hey hey Groovers.... well, most of you ladies may have read about my enomrmously irregular periods and wondered if there was a natural herbal remedy I could take to help me regulate them.

By irregular, I mean being ON my period for 1.5 years non-stop and being nearly monthly for 2 yrs and then skipping 2 before being on again for my 2nd week, pretty heavy too. This odd cycle is the norm for me, obviously not being on and off for years on end, but it HAS happened.

My doctor said that if it was my natural cycle as there is no need for me to be on the pill, then there was little else he could do and i refuse to go on the pill while withouht a partner as there is a high breast cancer rate in my family. I'm 30 yrs old.

Many thanks.

i remember reading about a product called Agnus Castus to treat problems associated with the menstrual cycle - i bought some myslef but never used it.

I was told by the woman in the health food shop not to take it if you are on the pill. Hope that helps :-)

By the way i am the same with the period thing and have started doing loads of exercise and that has really helped - almost like i have been kicked started or something :-)

Hi Pinkfizz.... nope, unfortunately, you saw right, I have missed my period in the past for 10 months and I had my period for one and a half YEARS about 2 or 3 summers ago! its a nightmare, but sadly, there is no explanation, Dr says its my natural cycle.... any ideas?

have you tried the pill? (although i didnt like being on it as made me feel ill) - i was put on dianette and that brought them on (sort off) but i went 5 years without having one - i have pcos though.

Also evening primrose is meant to help :-)

That was the whole point of this question.... DOH! The pill DOES regulate my periods, but there is a very high rate of breast cancer in my family, so I'm reluctant to go onthe pil unless absolutely necessary... even then, i chose to go on the the jab.... ;OD
ok sorry was just trying to help :-(
