My water provider is offering one of these for free via a company called Cenergist. It's said they will provide free water saving devices. What might these be, and where would they fit them?

Could be shower heads that use less water, water butts for watering the garden, bricks things that go in your toilet cistern so you use less water when you flush.

they put some thing on my taps that adds water to the flow.  Also a shower timer, also the brick thing

Haha...I've already got an actual brick in the toilet tank. Put there by a friend when I first moved in here...not sure that its made a difference.

How much do you pay for your water? Have you got a water meter?

My advice...if you have a metered supply, go for it. If unmetered, don't bother (it will only benefit your water company!)
