Understanding Little Children
My 5, going on 6 year old grandson, is in his Christmas play at school tomorrow. The school doesn't do the traditional stuff, but always make it fun. He told me he is the Narrator. "Oh", says I, that's good" Then asked him, was he going to dress up as a shepherd. He says, "No Nanny, I'm dressing up as Narrator!" 😆 Can anyone tell me what a Narrator should look like??

I related a few stories about coincidences, and how they met. He was listening intently, and looking very interested or so I thought.. Then suddenly, he looked at me very seriously and said, "You're boring me now, Nan"😆😅
My then eight-year-old son came home from school one day and asked, 'Mum, did you used to be a gorilla?' 'No,' I spluttered, 'Why?' He explained that his teacher had been telling the class that some people believed humans were descended from monkeys, apes etc 'a long, long, long time ago' and I, apparently, had been around for a long, long, long time.
Oh, I used to love the annual nativity play - and it was that, even it was called The Lonely Snowman or The Naughty Sheep. We always ended with the Nativity tableau and not a dry eye in the house. Memories..... third king tripping over the top step and his 'gold' making a perfect arc and landing on baby Jesus's face in the crib. King turning to the audience "Cor, did you see that, goal!" A particularly trying shepherd who got bored and was picking his nose. Finger withdrawn with a large deposit on the end, he looked round for somewhere to wipe. He and the shepherds had the same idea. As he advanced the shepherds retreated until they were virtually standing on each others shoulders on the edge of the stage. The child's mother thought we should keep it in as it was funny........
My wife and I took our two young sons to the Natural History Museum in Kensington when they were about 6 and 4 years old. We were walking along the Evolution Gallery where there were glass cases with apes leading up to a figure of a modern man.The kids werew ahead of us and one of them shouted back to us,'Mummy, quickly, there is a man here with a willy just like daddys'. As I was catching up a middle aged looking lady turned around and gave me what appeared to be a nod of approval with a wry grin.I wished the ground could swallow me up there and then. 😊
