I find it an interesting distraction, I only answer if it interests me or if i actually have a good response, but i also like to ask them to look at their question in geater depth sometimes as it often seems they have not been clear enough or have misunderstood it themselves. But that's just me being analytical.

Well, it depends who's asking. If it's Madame Frufru, the sex-pot GCSE French teacher, asking me to do her homework, then I might be tempted to refuse, on the off chance that she'd then put me across her knee and spank me.
Seriously, though, knowledge is acquired in many forms. Asking those who are possibly better informed, if only by virtue of them being older and therefore further along on life's educational path, is merely one of these forms. I see nothing wrong, therefore, in soliciting information from the contributers to this site. The questioners ought to have the decency, though, to acknowledge the help by thanking people and also, where appropriate, cite the source of their information in their assignment.

I think your missing the point. The idea of home work and school in general is two fold, firstly it's to teach children the facts at hand but also (and more importantly) how to find gather and make use of information from a number of sources.
Take for example work, how many time has your boss asked you the date of the battle of Hastings? How many times has he asked for information which you then have to use research skills to find.
Feel free to give people the answers, but when the spotty office junior straight out of school asks you to tie his shoe laces because somebody else always did it for him you will know who to blame.

My personal stance on such matters is if they construct a decent question and ask for pointers I'm happy to help, because I know that means they will have the ability to formulate their own answer having understood the facts. If you they simply repeat the question verbatim (which often happens) I've no doubt they will do the same with the answer.

As an example of this, I went back to college later in life (not that old but with 5-6 years of 'life experience'). We had a course text which in most cases answered all the assignment questions but in a basic way. The more mature members of the group would use this as a basis for further investigation and would build apon that to produce their course work.
We had one case where a group of lads (straight from school) scanned in a whole chapter and presented it as their course work, they each used different fonts and layouts, but they forgot to remove "see figure 1.3" from the text where the book had an illustration. They still passed the course.
Shocking? or the work of people who have been spoon fed the answers?
