Samsung Phone

Anyone came across this my friends phone not sure model but know it's a Samsung. Came up on screen enter pin under that a keyboard under that emergency call. The phone was locked could not get into anything she said she has never had a pin just slide to open. 
She went to shop where she bought phone now 4 yrs old but they said send back to Samsung they could not help..I've never seen this before has anyone had or heard of this?

Thanks buenchico I have sent her this. Her son is away with her phone he is taking it to a mobile repair shop tomorrow to see what they think.. she still insists she never had a code. But even if she had and was not activated as she just used slide to open why did it lock her out? Curious as to why this would happen. We did think last night to reset phone but could not get in to get to settings.

It might be worth trying the old trick of turning it off and then turning it on again.  It's amazing how often it helps!

Old trick buenchico but we tried that it just would not go off. Will see what happens tomorrow but will let you know.

I suppose you've tried 0000 or 1111 etc, maybe it's a default it is already set to before you pick the numbers yourself?

Yes dagman we did 0000 1234 1111 tried a few no joy.

If the phone is unresponsive press and hold the Power button and the Volume down button down simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it.
