Hunt For Missing Woman

//Detectives investigating the disappearance of Gaynor Lord say they still "can't explain" why she left work early on the day she went missing.

The mother-of-three's belongings were found by a member of the public scattered across Wensum Park in Norwich last Friday evening.

Hours before, the 55-year-old left work an hour early and is seen on CCTV hurrying through the city centre.

Norfolk Constabulary said her behaviour was "out of character".

The force added there was a "high probability" she had entered the River Wensum, which runs alongside the park.//

 

If she simply fell into the river, why were her belongings found scattered around the park?  It doesn't make sense.

Not much help speculating. All will be revealed eventually,  I hope for family and friends it doesn't take too long. It must be dreadful for them.

I think that's what a lot of people are thinking, smurfchops.  I hope they find her soon.  What a nightmare for her family.

Oh, that's simply tragic. And her family may forever ask why?

Well hopefully an autopsy may provide some of the answer to 'Why?'.

According to the link above, her belongings that were found included "clothing, a mobile phone, glasses and jewellery scattered through Wensum Park on Friday evening."

Sad to say but it sounds deliberate on her part.

Poor woman, what sort of state must you get into to behave like that. 

I think there is a problem in  that the sort of people who bottle up and hide their depression are the ones who finally snap and end it all.  We must educate society to recognise depression as a serious threat and not as something to be "just snapped out of" - there seems to be a stigma (real or imagined) attached to it which prevents some sufferers from reaching out.

Having just watched a video that showed all the CCTV footage of her after she'd left work left work and went through the town its made it seem even worse, if thats possible...

Assuming there was nobody else directly involved then she must have been going through some terrible inner turmoil which we, not that we are entitled to, may never know the cause of.. Extremely sad

Is there something distasteful in the way the media select certain missing person cases for detailed analysis and present it rather like a whodunnit mystery?

After all hundreds of people go missing every year in this country. Why is this one put under the spotlight. And why do we encourage the media by speculating?  What happened to "leave the family to grieve in private"?

Yes, I realise there is a hypocritical element in this post, but this mystery as to why any one particular case is selected for maximum publicity does baffle me.  

My sympathy is with her family and friends - it must be terrible for them.
