Wearing Fur

I have just been reading on MSN home page that fur is making a big come-back, with Gautier & Dior among the big names triumphing its return.
Would you buy a garment with fur on?
Is buying vintage fur more acceptable?

I personally cannot condone wearing any kind of fur but what do you fashionistas think?

I'm far from a fashionista, but I'd say: no and only very slightly.

I can't see any justification for real fur - from captive-bred animals or wild - when the fakes are so good now.

(Except possibly if you're an eskimo, or similar)
I would never wear fur - new or vintage.

I don't think it is any more acceptable to wear vintage fur as some poor animal still died to get it - just because it was years ago does not mean its ok.

I agree with Catso - if someone wants the look then why not wear faux fur as it looks the same. Who wants to smell like a dead animal anyway
I am an animal lover, but eat meat - I am an omnivore and we were designed to eat meat (nothing against vegggie, that is their choice and there is much to be said for their diet).
I really don't feel the need to wear fur, because there are alternatives.

But as somebody once said of a fur coat "it was dead when I got it".

I would only wear real fur if I lived in somewhere like Alaska or Siberia. However when I went to New York last year I couldn't believe how many fur shops there were, and how many women wore fur coats. Okay so it was a bit nippy but I couldn't justify it myself.
