My wife says 'chop it'.

I would chop it, it's a hotpot not a shepherd's pie

Chop it. Tonight we are having Irish stew on the bone.

Chopped it will be.

I'd chop it; because it's difficult to get a whole lamb into the pot. (Or through a mincer.)

My (Lancashire) mum chopped it, and it was always accompanied with a small bowl of beetroot and vinegar.
