Dentists

Yeah yeah it's the same old story and believe me, I've looked at some of the answers on here and am amzed I am still upright! I don't like dentists but they are tolerable and I don't really care too much about drills and stuff. BUT what I do hate is having my mouth/tounge/back teeth prodded about with as it makes me feel so sick (I'm feeling sick just thinking about it). Is there anyway to get over this? I have toothache at the moment and could swing for someone it's so painful, the missus is trying to sort out a dentist for me and has ordered me to go to them but it's just the panic thing that I can't get over especially as one of the teeth that will need treatment at some point is very near the back and I feel sick when I try and look at it myself let alone if someone else had their probing fingers in my gob. P.S. I seem to have a huge phobia of being sick incase you hadn't noticed - only done it once that I remember and that's when I was 5 and asleep. I did have anaesthetic at the dentist once and when I woke up I dribbled out some strange liquid, dunno what that was. Anyway TIA for any answers, you can carry on eating now

Give him (or his receptionist) a call and ask what can be done. I spent years being so terrified I had a full anaesthetic every time I went (not a lot of dentists do this, however). Then one day I decided it was all too much hassle, told myself I could cope without... and rather to my surprise I did.
