Starmer And The Southpost Triple...

Running windows 10 and I've just noticed there is bar above the taskbar on my google homepage. It disappears when I open a page.
Reading from left to right it says, Advertising, Business, How search works, Our third decade climate action: join us, Privacy, Terms, Settings.
I've tried left clicking to see if I can delete it but there is no way. It seems to be only on the google homepage as I've tried a different browser with the same result.
Has it been there long and I've just noticed it?
Any way of getting rid of it?
That said, it doesnt bother me at all, I'm just wondering.
TIA.

However I can think of no reason why anyone should ever need to go to Google's home page anyway. (My visit there, just now, was the first time I've visited it for several years).
All modern browsers allow you to search Google (or whichever other search engine you've chosen as your default) simply by entering your search terms into the web address field (or, if you prefer, into the dedicated search box which can easily be added to any web browser).
