Someone else asked about this question already and gave the answer as REDCAP but did not give an explanation nor was it relevant to WINTER/CHRISTMAS .......can anyone assist please - thank you

I can't find any definition for REDCAP so I believe that is not the right answer.

Drift down from the sky or spring up from the ground (10). I thought SNOWDROPS (9) but nos have been confirmed as being correct.    So now am thinking - SNOWFLAKES or HAILSTONES ......HELP!
