I cant seem to find what this result means!

It keeps going on about too high results, but mine is too low!
Can anyone point me in the right direction or explain?
Thanks :)

Nucleated red blood cell count < 0.03   10*9/L

This result is apparently too high?

I hope some clever person sees and can answer this. I have multiple myeloma and get test results like these all the time after my regular hospital visits. I've tried Googling and end up even more confused! I'll be watching with interest.

I can't help but I strongly believe that these results should be given after a consultation which explains what they mean or 'normal' stamped across the bottom.

Can you speak to your GP?

nothing to worry about, but as Naomi keeps on reminding me I am not a doctor !

nucleated rbcs -  it is LESS than....0.03 so OK I think...

this may be machine generated: I live in the age of slides

whyd did we have a blood test in the first place?

erm - if the mods know nothing about normal basophil counts,

can they refrain from deleting posts from someone who DOES?

thank you

It is not in the interests of AB and its users to have proper gen binned ( considering what gets thro)

Basophil count normal

( I was an SHO in Haem - jesus there are some really ignorant people around)

Joko, best to check it out with your doctor and have it explained properly.

Just a thought.  If you use Patient Access online you might see the results there and the GP's comments.

I check mine that way and hopefully see that my GP has just put, normal, no further action

thanks - this was from my Patient Access file - it has no comments, just the word 'abnormal' next to it.

Time to phone your GP and ask for clarification, joko.

Joko, best to check it out with your doctor and have it explained properly.

AB doesnt do irony - I certainly agree with  that considering the mod deletion policy. It is normal - nil basophils - that was in the answer deleted ( in the  best parsible taste)

Your nucleated rbc count should be nil ( < 0.03  is near to nil and I think means none measured ).

Any one reading  this will  think - I cant ask a medical question on AB, anything sensible gets deleted and all  that  is left is "ask a doctor !"

you have

why did you get a blood test anyway ?

( My one from yesterday is Hb 12, Neuts 5, Plates 99, Lymphos 0.8 and anyone ( not an AB  that is!) can say - christ I can see why this  is being followed) - another patient said, christ you carry  around your latest FBC in your head - yup)
