Not a mission - conviction for assault prevents you working with vulnerable groups, such as children, people with learning disability and people who are ill.
I believe, though, that there is a time limit on a person's record, and after a certain number of years without a conviction, the record is deleted. Don't know if this applies to assault, though.
I believe there is a 10 yr period ... (rehabilitation of offenders act) when its up you dont need to declare it unless you are advised that ALL convictions must be disclosed ... but i may be wrong ...
Thanks everyone although its not what i wanted to hear. Didn't really expect that it would have been possible but thought it would be worth asking. and by the way just for the record I'm not a maniac that goes around assaulting people but was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
